Black Granite, Gen Lee and Obe van Kanobe?

Went out with Rohan and Sonal to 'Stone Mountain'. We were kinda late and so could not see the imposing figures of Jefferson Davis, General Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson mounted on horses. Hell! Did the south not lose the Civil war against the Yankees? Stonewall mountain was carved to commemorate the heroes of the south, post-civil war. But I personaly think it is an imitation of mount Rushmore.

Mihir says that Jefferson Davis' nose on the mountain is about 6feet long. Quite possible....but I did not get to analyse all that in the dark. We were just in time for the laser show at 9:30pm (EST), it was a really nice experience. I've been told that this laser show is the biggest in the south east (I wonder if there is really anything worthwhile in the southeast except Georgia). Nevertheless, after having heard a lot of patriotic music, and seen a lot of laser motion; finally it was time to move on. I'd have loved to see the Museum there, but it would have to be some other time.

As I saw all these Americans sitting on the grass, watching the show and doing a lot of other (and sometime pleasureable) things; I realised that these people have not a great history as Indians do; but have a lot of regional pride. I wonder why?
